Donald Cerrone won Mike Perry via armbar submission at UFC Denver. After the triumph 'Cowboy' confirmed that he was returning to lightweight and guaranteed that Ultimate had already chosen his next opponent. This Wednesday (14) through his Instagram, the North American stated that he is waiting for Conor McGregor.
“Just waiting for him! 'I know a guy,'” Cerrone posted.
The rivalry between McGregor and Cerrone has grown over the years. In 2016 'Cowboy' revealed his interest in facing Conor, but had doubts whether the fight would take place. “I would love to fight the guy, but it's a fight that won't happen for a long time,” said Donald in an interview with the North American website MMAJunkie.
However, the lightweight meeting inside the octagon has not yet taken place.
To be able to face McGregor, Cerrone will have to wait until 2019. The Irishman is temporarily suspended by the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC). Conor's future will be decided on December 10th when the Committee will judge his participation in the fight at UFC 229.
