Through his social network, the former 'Cowboy' coach revealed the fighter's behavior towards members of his former team. Winkeljohn claims that Cerrone used his teammates to train on his farm and the athletes ended up losing their fights.

“Loyalty is a two-way street. I say this especially to the press, who only see one side. Where was Cowboy Cerrone the last ten years? Helping other athletes at the gym? No, he was missing. He didn't come to training and classes, he didn't even use Greg Jackson in preparation for his last two fights. When he showed up, it was to pick sparring partners and take them to his ranch. There, he provided free entertainment for everyone. These guys would go there, sometimes stay and train, and end up losing their fights,” Mike posted.

Mike declared that the 'cancer' has been removed and that the gym environment is better with Cerrone gone. “Any gym owner would tell you all the same thing: 'The cancer has to be removed.' It's removed. There is no drama in the gym. It's a happy place. I'm a happy guy. That said, I would very much like Mike Perry hadn’t taken down Cerrone,” Mike wrote.

In the last two years, Cerrone has won two in six fights. 'Cowboy' was defeated by Leon edwards, Darren till, Robbie Lawler e Jorge masvidal. Donald plans to return to lightweight after 10 welterweight bouts.
