Artem Lobov promises to leave UFC if Zubaira Tukhugov is fired

Artem Lobov will face Michael Johnson in the co-main event of UFC Moncton, October 28th. However, 'Russian Hammer' keeps its focus on its former opponent, Zubaira Tukhugov which was removed from the card after attacking Conor McGregor at UFC 229. Due to the aggression, Dana White assured that he would fire 'Warrior'. In an interview with the website of the North American channel ESPN, the 'Notorious' training partner promised that he will leave Ultimate if the executioner leaves.

“If they fire him, I want to be fired too. I'll fight him in ACB, Bellator or whatever tournament he's in. I'll go after him. Our fight has to happen in the octagon. I want to look into his eyes, face to face. When you’re inside the Octagon, it’s one on one,” said Artem.

McGregor's partner stated that the fight against Johnson is another challenge so that he can finally face Tukhugov.

“I’m just going to face Michael Johnson because I was ready to fight, and because I haven't fought in a year. I had to accept this fight for several reasons. But have no doubts: I want Zubaira. We need this victory, but I don't feel pressured. For me, it's another step towards fighting Zubaira. I have nothing more than that in my head. That's all I can think about. I will not rest, nor sleep, until I face him,” he concluded.

Artem Lobov is one of the fighters who is directly linked to the rivalry between McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov. He confronted and was attacked by 'Eagle' before UFC 223. Because of this, Conor went to New York and attacked the bus taking the fighters to the event's Media Day.
