Brazilian Ronny Markes already has a date and opponent set for his return to the UFC Octagon. The athlete from Rio Grande do Norte will make his debut in the middleweight division (up to 84 kg) against the North American Aaron Simpson, at UFC on Fuel TV 1, in the United States, on February 15, 2012.
This will be Ronny Markes' second fight in the UFC. The first was in August of this year, when he faced and beat Czech Carlos Vemola. At just 23 years old, the native of Rio Grande do Norte believes that his second participation in Ultimate will be essential to gain a foothold in the biggest MMA event in the world.
“I'm preparing well for my return to the octagon and, in February, I'll have a good opportunity to show that all this preparation paid off,” says Markes.
Fully recovered from a knee injury, which left him out of training for almost a month, Markes continues to prepare at the Kimura Nova União gym, in Natal, but plans to go to Rio de Janeiro at the beginning of next year, as a means of to concentrate fully for the fight.
“There, I will be able to stay fully focused on this return, training at the Nova União gym,” said Ronny.
