It wasn't the disagreements with the Russian Ultimate fighters that prevented the Irishman's presence Conor McGregor in the World Cup final in Russia this Sunday (15). In fact, the former featherweight and lightweight champion was invited by the country's president, Vladimir Putin, to watch the game in the presidential box.
McGregor and Putin, in addition to watching France's 4-2 victory over Croatia in the box, also posed for photos behind the scenes at the Luzhniki stadium. The Irishman also met with the Russian president and is using this visit to build a “Russian complex”. The fighter did not explain what this complex was.
“Today I was invited to the World Cup final as a guest of Russian President Vladimir Putin. This man is one of the greatest leaders of our time and I was honored to participate in such a remarkable event alongside him. Today was an honor for me Mr. Putin. Thank you and congratulations on an incredible World Cup,” said McGregor in his post.
