In search of more records, Patrício Pitbull faces Daniel Weichel at Bellator 203

Eight years ago in Bellator, Patrick Pitbull wants to seek even more records in his victorious career. He leads the organization's statistics with 18 featherweight fights, the most knockouts (6) and the most submissions (4) and can still reach other marks. This Saturday (14), the Brazilian defends his division belt against Daniel weichel, at Bellator 203, in Rome, Italy.

Pitbull reaches the mark of 19 fights in Bellator, just one fight less than David Rickels. If he wins, Patrício will be equal with Michael chandler as the fighter with the most victories in the organization (15).

In an interview with the website “Combate.com”, the Brazilian fighter promised that he will strive for the best possible records. “I feel challenged. I debuted in 2003, I was a child, I will be 16 years old as a professional. My plan is to defend, break records, today I am the biggest winner in the organization, I have been there for eight years. I intend to fight in the upper and lower categories. I’m open to challenges and breaking more and more records”, guaranteed Patrício.

Patrício trained for the first defense of his featherweight belt against Weichel in Natal at the “Pitbull Brothers” training center. The camp had a strong reinforcement: the Olympic wrestling champion and UFC flyweight title challenger, Henry Cejudo.

Pitbull and Weichel already fought in 2015, and the Brazilian came away with a knockout victory in the second round. After three years, Patrício believes that his stand-up game has improved and will be one of the strategies to beat his opponent.

Weichel has a vast record of 39 wins and nine losses, and is on a streak of four consecutive victories. His last fight was against John Macapá and the German emerged victorious.

The native of Rio Grande do Norte has 26 wins and four losses, his last fight was against Daniel Straus where he regained the belt with a submission in the second round. The Brazilian was coming off a defeat to Ben henderson.
