During the week of UFC Belém, an event that takes place next Saturday (3) in the capital of Pará, Ultimate is already making plans to return to Brazil soon. And, according to information on the Combate channel website, the organization's next stop will be in Rio de Janeiro. UFC 224 will take place on May 12th, and will be hosted in the capital of Rio de Janeiro, as is customary in the promotion's numbered events in the country. A week later, the promotion arrives in Chile for the first time.

With the exception of the distant UFC 17.5, in 1998, in São Paulo, UFC 147, in Belo Horizonte, and UFC 198, in Curitiba, in 2016, all numbered shows were in Rio, such as UFC 134, 142, 153, 163, 179, 190 and 212, this is the last pay-per-view event in the capital of Rio de Janeiro.

The expectation is that the superfight between Chris Cyborg e Amanda nunes be the main attraction of the show. Current bantamweight champion, the Lioness has been campaigning to move up to featherweight and seek another title and repeat the feat of Conor McGregor – have two Ultimate belts at the same time. Initially reluctant to face Nunes, Cyborg accepted the challenge and even said that she would “finish” her rival.
