The Brazilian Amanda ribas was temporarily suspended by the Nevada Athletic Commission (NSAC) after testing positive in a drug test. She would have her first UFC fight at TUF Finale 25, on July 7, against compatriot Juliana Lima. After analyzing the fighter's sample, Ultimate decided to remove her from her duel with Ju Thai so that there is due legal process of investigation before Ribas can return to fight or receive a definitive suspension. An NSAC official reported the hook to the North American website “MMA Fighting”.

The strawweight would have tested positive for ostarine in a test carried out outside the competition period, on June 7th. Some of the fighters who have already been caught with the same substance include the Brazilian Carlos Diego Ferreira and the Americans Tom Lawlor and Tim means. The latter managed to prove that a supplement he used was contaminated with the banned substance.
Also according to “MMA Fighting”, Amanda will try the same defense as Means, as she requested an investigation in this regard from the Athletic Commission and USADA. The Brazilian is an amateur MMA world champion and has a professional record of six wins and one loss. Ribas trains at the American Top Team with names of the caliber of Amanda nunes, Nina ansaroff, Jessica Aguilar and Tecia torres, who will replace her against Ju Thai, at TUF Finale 25.
