Chris Cyborg spoke out after the controversy fight with fighter Angela Magaña, which took place last Sunday, during an event organized by the UFC. Through social media, the Brazilian defended herself against the accusations, claiming to have been a victim of online bullying.

At some points in my career, I felt as if there was a team of journalists using the internet to shape the public's view of my brand. Many times, it was as if they were trying to make me the face of anabolic steroid abuse in MMA,” says Cyborg in an excerpt from the statement.
In another part of the text, Cyborg complains about the prejudice suffered due to his appearance. She even cites a Joe Rogan's unfortunate comment, comedian and Ultimate omentarist, who suggested that the Curitiba native could move down a category if she “cut off her male organ”.
“Although it was a few years ago that someone said I looked like “the Wanderlei Silva in a dress,” it doesn’t seem long ago that I heard someone giving advice about how cutting off my penis would help me make the 61,2-pound bantamweight weight more easily,” he wrote.

“I looked up the word “culture” in the dictionary and it is defined as “social behavior and norms found in human societies”. This made me start thinking about all the cultural differences that shaped my ideals and how these experiences shaped my knowledge of life and relationships.
Vital cultural values are learned through leaders in communities where we live, work, and interact regularly. When I started training at Chute Boxe in Curitiba, I learned the true fighting spirit by seeing legends like Wanderlei Silva, Mauritius Shogun, and Cyborg Evangelist training every day at the gym. Everyone looked to these fighters as examples to follow. We saw the hard work, heart and dedication it took to become champion and we learned to expect nothing less from ourselves.
By training with these sporting legends, we learn to win with pride and, in the event of a defeat, to deal with it with integrity. Even though I'm no longer training with master Rudimar Fedrigo and Chute Boxe in Curitiba, I think I still represent the team's culture and the values that we have always honored and respected, in addition to discipline. And that's why I've proudly carried the #CHUTEBOXE flag with me throughout my career.
The way we select our friends is very different from the way companies select which people will build working relationships. During my time at Chute Boxe, I also learned that, just like in fighting, culture in business is developed by those who have success and high-level profiles within the company. Examples of leadership are learned from the top down, resulting in what eventually becomes the company's culture and its identity in relationships with its employees and associates.
When derogatory comments are made at the top, this makes the example above acceptable throughout the company, allowing individuals at the bottom of the pyramid to continue following these leadership examples, thus establishing a culture and practices in the company.
