The controversial defeat of Chris Weidman for Gegard Mousasi at UFC 210, held last Saturday (08), in Buffalo (USA), continues to cause controversy. This Monday (10), an audio was released in which Matt Serra and Ray Longo, members of Weidman's team, despaired over the referee's decision for a technical knockout, and blasted Mousasi, complete with homophobic insults.
The fight that culminated in the defeat of the former champion began after referee Dan Miragliotta interrupted the fight due to an alleged illegal knee from Gegard. However, the judge, upon seeing the move on replay, immediately changed his mind, but was warned by the midfielders, who assessed Weidman, that the North American was unable to continue, thus decreeing the end of the fight. With Weidman's defeat, by technical knockout, the athlete's corner went crazy.
