Of the 12 Brazilians scheduled for UFC Fortaleza, which takes place this Saturday (11), Alex Cowboy stands out for a peculiar reason: its confrontation against Tim means, in the first fight on the main card, will be a rematch. The first duel took place at UFC 207, in December 2016, in Las Vegas (USA), and ended without result after the North American landed two illegal knees. Now, almost three months later, the fight will be in Brazil, and Cowboy can't hide his happiness at having the opportunity to 'settle the score' with his rival.

“I asked for this fight again, because when we don't fight, we get upset. We trained a lot, we waited a lot and nothing happened. The UFC also wanted this rematch, and I already left the hospital asking for it, so I'm happy that they listened to me and gave me this opportunity again", he declared, in an interview with SUPER FIGHTS during UFC Fortaleza Media Day.
For the second battle, Cowboy guaranteed that he corrected some mistakes made in the first meeting, highlighting the preparation made at TFT (Tata Fight Team). According to him, after Saturday there will be no doubt about who is the best fighter in the pair.
“I fought with him three months ago, I fought at his house, but now I'm in my country. My preparation is in the same city, in Três Rios (in Rio de Janeiro), so we study it, we will focus on the gaps that we missed. I'm very happy that I'm going to fight again, I'm going to show Brazil and the world who's who, because that day we didn't fight (referring to the illegal blow received), so on Saturday I'm going to show who is the best” , said the Brazilian.
Throughout his career in Ultimate, Alex alternated between lightweight and welterweight. Asked about which category he intends to continue acting in, he stated that the less weight he has to do, the better for his preparation.
“For now I'm going to stay at 77kg (welterweight), because the weight gain is very strong and it's more difficult for me to lose (weight), so when we travel, we end up becoming more bloated and it becomes more difficult to lose weight. weight again”, said Alex, who concluded by saying that he doesn’t worry about choosing his next opponent.
“I don’t have any name in mind, whoever they (the UFC) puts me in to fight I’ll beat up.”
