The Nevada Athletic Commission is studying the removal of marijuana from the list of prohibited substances for the use of athletes registered with the entity, according to the North American website “TMZ Sports”. A meeting of the body's members, scheduled for next Friday (13), must decide for or against the idea. The discussion would have been motivated by the fact that the state of Nevada itself had legalized the use of recreational marijuana in November last year.

Some of those who benefited from the possible removal of the substance from the prohibited list are the Diaz brothers, notorious marijuana users. Nate, for example, was seen using an electronic vaporizer that contained CBD oil, also known as medical cannabis. His brother Nick was recently suspended for five years for repeatedly being caught using the substance, but his suspension was reduced to a year and a half. Other athletes caught with marijuana include Matthew Riddle and Brazilian Diego Brandao. Former light heavyweight champion Jon Jones He also revealed that he was once a user.
