To get you in the mood for UFC 207, the SUPER FIGHTS prepared five reasons for you to attend the event.

1 – Amanda Nunes one step away from making history

Amanda nunes already established at the end Miesha Tate and become the first Brazilian and first homosexual fighter to win a UFC belt, however, let's face it: beating Ronda Rousey will make the Brazilian reach an even higher level, to the point of saying, without fear of making mistakes, that she will establish her name as one of the greatest in the history of women's MMA.

The 28-year-old “arretada” Bahian was known for her aggressive style, which reflects well on her history in Ultimate: of the seven fights held, only one was decided by the judges, the victory over Valentina Shevchenko, last March. Interestingly, it was precisely this triumph that gave him the opportunity to compete for the division title.

When she steps into the octagon in front of Ronda, the “Lioness” will be writing the most important chapter of her career (so far). Whether the story will have a happy ending or not, we’ll find out in a few hours…

UFC 207's biggest question mark hangs over Ronda Rousey. Since she began her MMA career, the former champion has had few troubles and her aura of invisibility has grown as much as her fame. The first defeat in 13 professional fights and, consequently, the loss of her unbeaten record took away the “invincible” status of the muse, who felt the blow.

PUBLICITY:

The knockout defeat hurt Rowdy not only physically but also psychologically. After UFC 193, the North American retired, avoiding the media, barely appearing on social media and even contemplating suicide. She overcame her fears and scheduled her return for this Friday (30).

Despite demanding not to do interviews with the specialized media, which raised doubts about her psychological state, UFC president, Dana White, guarantees that Ronda is in the best physical shape of her life – so much so that she didn't even need to cut weight. But who will show up to face Amanda nunes: the invincible one or the psychologically weak one? This is a question that will only be answered at the time of the fight.

3 – The future of the bantamweight category

Also on the main card, two duels will define the next steps in the men's bantamweight category. In the second most important fight of the night, Dominick Cruz puts his belt on the line against Cody Garbrant, while TJ Dillashaw and John Lineker face off, one fight in advance, to define the division's next challenger.

Dominick is definitely a rare case in MMA. After suffering from countless injuries and having just one fight in four and a half years, the “Dominador” faced TJ Dillashaw in January of this year and regained his position as the best bantamweight in the world, a place from which, in the opinion of many, he should never have left. With a comeback worthy of cinema, à la Ronaldo Phenomenon, Cruz is going for his third fight in 2017 – hit Urijah faber at UFC 199, in June – and will try to prove, once again, that defeating him is a thankless task for any 61kg fighter in the world. To date, only Faber, in 2007, has achieved the feat, 13 duels ago.

His opponent is the undefeated Gabrandt, 10-0 in MMA. In Ultimate alone, there are already five victories, four of which were by knockouts, including the defeat of Brazilians Augusto Tanquinho, Thomas almeida and Japanese Takeya Mizugaki. Known for his tight boxing and powerful hands, “No Love”, as he is known, promised to knock out Cruz, as he did with nine of his ten opponents, and win the bantamweight belt. At 25 years old, the sky is the limit for the big-time Alpha Male product.

Former bantamweight champion, Dillashaw wants to recover what was once rightfully his. After being dethroned by Cruz, he resumed his journey beating the Brazilian Raphael Assunção at UFC 200, in July, avenging the defeat suffered in 2013. At 30 years old, the executioner of Renan Barao He has already shown that he has the gas in the tank to return to number 1 in the weight class, but he will have to overcome a lot of obstacles this Friday to gain his long-awaited second chance.

Just like his rival, Lineker also dreams big – the man from Paraná should have already competed for the flyweight belt, but was forced to move up in weight due to recurring problems with the scales. In the bantamweight division, his career is impeccable, having won the four duels he has held. The most recent triumph was over John Dodson, last October. Number 2 in the rankings, the Brazilian knows that a victory over TJ is the last step before a chance at the title.

4 – Johny Hendricks’ career at stake

First fighter to win the welterweight belt (up to 77kg) after the “George St. Pierre era”, John hendricks, a decorated wrestler and owner of very heavy hands, was seen as a potential champion reigning at the top of the division, but expectations were dashed in his first defense.

After five balanced rounds, he was dethroned by Robbie Lawler, in a decision contested to this day. It was in that fight, in fact, that Hendricks' decline began. Since then, he has had three fights, having only beaten the irregular Matt Brown, in March 2015. Afterwards, he was easily overcome by Stephen Thompson and suffered the first knockout of his career. In his most recent performance, another setback, this time for the young Kelvin Gastelum, at UFC 200, last July.

At 33 years old, the confrontation against Neil Magny It should be a turning point for Bigg Rigg, who promised to hang up his gloves in the event of another defeat. Will the former champion return to his winning ways or will we see one of the greatest talents in the world at 77kg end his career prematurely?

5 – Brazilian promises in action

TUF Brazil 3 Champion, Antonio Shoe Guy emerged as one of the main Brazilian promises in the UFC, even landing in the largest MMA organization in the world with just three professional fights under his belt. And his inexperience showed that the 26-year-old boy, although extremely talented, still needs to evolve to compete with the middleweight elite.

In five fights in Ultimate, there are three wins, two losses and one no contest, results that have cooled the hype around his name a little. Fueled by his submission over compatriot Leonardo Leleco last September, the jiu-jitsu world champion (at brown belt) wants to prove himself against Marvin vettori he wants to leave the distrust in the past and score his first series of triumphs in the UFC.

Responsible for the first fight of the night, Alex Cowboy had a meteoric rise in the organization. Hired at the beginning of 2015, the charismatic fighter soon became known for his “hungry” style, having three fights in three months.

Alternating between lightweight and welterweight, Cowboy has already recorded five wins and two defeats in the organization, and quickly rose from anonymity to the position of favorite of the Brazilian fans. His last victory was against Will Brooks, former Bellator champion, which shows that Alex is ready to reach greater heights. Your opponent, the thick-skinned Tim means, could mean the last step before entering the top 15.
