The UFC is close to confirming the first two Brazilian cities that will host UFC events in 2017. The first show should take place in Fortaleza, on March 11, at the Centro de Formação Olímpica do Nordeste, the largest air-conditioned gym in the country, which has capacity of around 20 thousand people. Rio de Janeiro is due to host an event on June 03rd, at Arena da Barra. The information is from the website 'Combate.com'

According to information, negotiations between the UFC and the Ceará Sports Secretariat are advanced, and the contract is already being drawn up, with only bureaucratic details yet to be worked out. There is still no confirmation regarding the cards, whether they will be numbered or “Fight Night”.
This will be the second time that Ultimate arrives in Fortaleza. The first took place in June 2013, with the final edition of TUF Brasil 2. On that occasion, Rio de Janeiro native Leonardo Santos became the winner of the reality show after finishing William Patolino. In the main fight of the night, the former heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum finished the legend Rodrigo Minotauro. Names like Thiago Silva, Rafael Feijão, Erick silva e Ron Jason were also part of the card.
In Rio de Janeiro the scenario is very different. This will be the eighth edition held in the capital of Rio, the sixth only at Arena da Barra. The last edition in Rio de Janeiro was in August 2015, when Ronda Rousey knocked out Bethe Correia in the main event of UFC 190.
