Dana White, president of the UFC, 'threw cold water' on fans who were eager for Georges St-Pierre's return. According to Dana, the possibility of the Canadian returning at UFC 206, an event to be held in Toronto (CAN), on December 10, has been ruled out, and was speculated as the date of GSP's return, retired from MMA since November 2013.
“GSP will not fight in Toronto. There's a certain mentality you have to have to be a fighter, and Georges St-Pierre had that mentality for a long time. Sometimes that's not a bad thing. This guy came out on top. How many athletes actually come out on top? Do they go out the way they want to go out? He made a lot of money. This is not a sport that you can stop for three years – declared Dana, in an interview with 'Fox Sports' (USA).
It is not yet known when St. Pierre will fight again, but the expectation is that it will happen in the first half of 2017. Without the former welterweight champion on the card, the rematch between Daniel Cormier e Anthony Johnson, valid for the UFC light heavyweight belt, was made official as the main fight of the night.
