After participating in one of the most comical moments at the press conference to promote UFC 205, in New York (USA), Jeremy Stephens responded to Conor McGregor and stated that a duel with the Irishman is a mere “matter of time”.

Stephens and McGregor participated in the conference last Tuesday night (27). The Irishman, who is challenging Eddie Alvarez for the lightweight belt, was asked by a journalist which of the other athletes present would represent the toughest fight for him.

Before McGregor even responded, Stephens, who fights with Frankie Edgar at the show, he took the microphone and declared: “Here! The guy who hits the hardest in the featherweight division. The guy who really hits hard in the featherweight division is here. This guy [McGregor] only wins by TKO; Me, when I knock them out, I leave the guys immobile,” he said.
The Irishman then sneered: “Who the hell is this guy? Who the hell is it? Oh, my God”, replied McGregor, to the delight of the Irish fans present at the venue (check out the video below).

Despite being embarrassed during the incident, Stephens left his response to McGregor. “He knows exactly who I am. I've fought in the same events as him in the past and won violent knockouts. It's just a matter of time, but right now my focus is 100% on Frankie Edgar. An exciting victory, with a knockout, puts me in the mix for a title shot. You never know what could happen”, he said, in conversation with the North American radio “Sirius XM”.

Stephens stated that he would have liked to provoke McGregor more during the press conference, but he didn't for a simple reason. “It's a little sad, because I couldn't hear exactly what he was saying. I couldn't hear what Donald Cerrone he said, and he was sitting next to me. I wanted to get a little more involved, create a buzz, but I didn't want to sound like an idiot because I couldn't say what McGregor was saying,” she explained.
