Overeem suspended indefinitely after UFC 203 loss

Dutch will need to pass a battery of exams before returning to activities; five fighters receive suspension with no expected return date

After being knocked out by Stipe Miocic in the main fight of UFC 203, an event that took place last Saturday (10), in Cleveland, in the United States, alistair overeem There is one more reason to regret. The fighter was suspended by the Ohio Athletic Commission, responsible for regulating the show, for an indefinite period of time and will need to undergo neurological exams, as well as an MRI before being allowed to return to training.

In addition to Overeem, four other fighters on the card received indefinite medical suspensions: Travis Browne (injured right index finger), Jimmie rivera (eye injury), Brad Tavares (lower back injury) and Sean Spencer (left hand injury).

The Brazilian Fabricio Werdum, who defeated Travis Browne on points in the second most important fight of the night, didn't even receive a suspension. Bethe Correia e Jessica Andrade, who also won on the night, were only suspended for 30 days.

Jason Gonzalez: Suspended 45 days; 30 days no contact.
