the reign of Stipe Miocic in the heavyweight category remains firm and strong after UFC 203. On Saturday night (10), in Cleveland, in the United States, the champion survived a scare, but managed to turn things around and won alistair overeem by knockout in the first round.

In the opening moments of the fight, Overeem surprised the champion by landing a straight left that knocked his rival down. Miocic tried to get up in a hurry, but the Dutchman took advantage of the opportunity to land a guillotine choke. The North American escaped and the duel returned to striking.
Then the tide changed and Miocic began to dictate the pace, with good blows to Overeem. The Dutchman spun around to try to escape, but was incessantly hunted by his rival. Near the final minute of the first round, Overeem threw a kick at Miocic, who took advantage of the opening to take his rival to the ground. There, he delivered accurate blows that knocked out the challenger and defined the fight.
The Cleveland fans cheered for their fellow countryman Miocic, who responded: “He’s a tough guy. He is a veteran, who has fought against the best in the world. But I told you: I'm going to keep this belt for a long time”, shouted the champion.
Overeem, in turn, questioned the result: “Stipe was better today. He is a great athlete. But I had the impression that he hit that guillotine”, declared the challenger, which, shortly afterwards, was contradicted by the replay on the gym’s big screen.
