Despite going through a difficult phase in his career, with two defeats in his last three fights, junior gypsy is confident that the duel with Ben Rothwell, main attraction of UFC Croatia, this Sunday (10), will be the first step towards his return to the top.

In his most recent fights, the Santa Catarina native suffered setbacks to Cain Velazquez e alistair overeem, winning between them Stipe Miocic. For him, a categorical victory over Rothwell would place him back among the elite of the heavyweight category.
“I think the work was done in a good way and I'm well prepared to surprise on Sunday and get this victory, which will be the first step towards regaining the belt. It will be a tough fight against a tough guy and I consider this the first step towards returning to the good times of my career”, said Cigano, in an interview with the “Portal do Vale Tudo” website.
The Brazilian praised his opponent, who has four wins in a row. “Rothwell is a tough, huge, strong guy who is impressing everyone. His strong point is to put pressure on his opponents and make them make mistakes, which he makes good use of.
