Brazilians fight for Strikeforce belt tonight

King mo e Rafael Feijão compete for light heavyweight belt

With two titles up for grabs and six Brazilians in action, another edition of Strikeforce takes place tonight in Houston. The main attraction of the show will be a duel for the light heavyweight belt, between the current champion “King mo” Lawal and Brazilian Rafael “Feijão”.

PUBLICITY:

“People think I'm a striker, but my origins are jiu-jitsu. If necessary, I will show it in the fight”, said Feijão, who expects a fight full of alternations. “I think we will have a lot of surprises. He (Mo) has a lot of things to show and so do I”, said the confident Brazilian. The current champion, on the other hand, transfers responsibility to his opponent, but hopes to put on a great performance.

PUBLICITY:

“I'm not a favorite, he (Feijão) has much more experience than me. I’m still new to this sport, but I want to get in there and fight well,” said Mo.

PUBLICITY:

Another Brazilian athlete who is also competing for a belt is black belt Ronaldo Jacaré, who faces American Tim Kennedy for the organization's middleweight title.

“He's a great wrestler and has powerful ground and pound,” acknowledged Ronaldo Jacaré, who will face an opponent concerned with his jiu-jitsu.

PUBLICITY:

“I brought some of the best guys to train my jiu-jitsu. I haven’t been doing anything other than preparing for this fight against Ronaldo Jacaré”, said Kennedy.
