Just as had happened previously with Jon Jones, the UFC organization reinstated the former middleweight champion Anderson Silva to his official ranking as soon as the Brazilian's doping suspension ended, on January 31st.

However, unlike Jones, who returned to the top of the weight-for-pound rankings as the best fighter, Anderson returned in tenth place in the middleweight category – immediately behind another Brazilian, Thales leites. The Spider still does not appear in the weight-for-weight rankings.

Another change in the middleweight ranking was the entry of Rafael Sapo No. top-15. Sapo, who beat the American Kevin Casey last Saturday (30) is now 13th in the under-84 kg division. Another Brazilian who did well was Wilson reis, who also emerged victorious on the most recent Ultimate card, and is already ninth in the flyweight division.
