Werdum reveals McGregor's veto in Brazilian team: 'We were going to break him'

Light heavyweight champion revealed that Irishman asked him to sharpen his game at Kings MMA, but Brazilians refused to train José Aldo's rival

Conor McGregor spoke, provoked and won José Aldo in the fight for the UFC featherweight belt, last Saturday (12), but the repertoire of provocations also caused problems and closed some doors for the Irishman. Before the fight against the Brazilian, McGregor pHe turned to the Kings MMA gym, led by Rafael Cordeiro, to sharpen his stand-up game. However, the team's refusal was immediate.

The revelation was made by the Brazilian Fabricio Werdum, UFC heavyweight champion, who trains with the team. According to the Gaucho, if the Irishman tried to train at Kings it would be dangerous, as they 'would break him every day'.

McGregor's manager asked Rafa (Rafael Cordeiro, coach and team leader), who cut it immediately. He had no chance of training with us. If he were to train with us, it would be dangerous. He wouldn’t be able to fight, because we would break him every day”, said Werdu, during the half day of the UFC.

Brazilian champions

After the defeat of José Aldo, Kings MMA is the only team with Brazilian champions in the UFC. In addition to Werdum, in the heavyweight division, Rafael dos Anjos owns the lightweight title.
