Caught in two different doping tests last year, Chael Sonnen decided to retire from professional MMA. However, the American's manager, Mike Roberts, believes that this is something temporary, as he is betting that the loudmouth will return to fights next year.

Last year, Sonnen was scheduled to fight at UFC 175 in July. However, he crashed two different tests, which earned him a two-year suspension. For Roberts, Sonnen will return to active duty as soon as he is legally able to fight, which would happen in mid-2016.

“I don't think he accepts the way he left the scene well. Chael is the nicest person you will ever meet, but he is also the most competitive person you will ever meet. I know for sure he misses the competition. He constantly calls me to arrange competitions for him, be it wrestling or grappling. So, if I had to bet, I would say that we will see the return of the 'American Gangster' in 2016”, declared the businessman, in an interview with the website of the North American broadcaster “FOX Sports”.

Sonnen, 38 years old, has a record of 28 wins and 14 losses in professional MMA. He gained notoriety when he maintained an intense rivalry with Anderson Silva, to whom he lost twice, in 2010 and 2012.
