The Brazilian MMA Athletic Commission announced that the anti-doping test carried out by Ron Jason in his last fight, in May, he also tested positive for diuretics. Therefore, the nine-month suspension imposed on the fighter will be maintained.

Jason objected when the first results were released last month. At the time, the TUF Brasil 1 champion said that he did not use the substance hydrothiazide, even stating that he would sue the Brazilian entity for moral and material damages.
The second test carried out with the same sample was carried out at the UCLA laboratory, in the United States, which is accredited by the World Anti-Doping Agency. Once again the result was positive.
However, Jason did not accept the new result. To the North American website “MMA Fighting”, the fighter declared that, contrary to what the Brazilian entity claims, the test collection did not follow all legal procedures.
“My lawyer told me [about the second result], but he also said that there was nothing to prove that the sample was mine, because there was no signature on any of the samples. I'm going to continue [with the process], because I didn't take anything. The entire procedure was done incorrectly, and they cannot prove that those samples were mine,” said the Brazilian fighter.
At UFC Goiânia, held on May 30th, Jason returned to the octagon after practically a year away due to injury and defeated Damon Jackson by submission, still in the first round.
