The UFC's plans to hold its first event in New York were frustrated by the continued ban on MMA in the state. However, the largest organization on the planet was planning quite an attraction for the place, headlined by a fight that would go down in history, between Jon Jones e Chris Weidman.

The two fighters are from New York, and the fight would mark a silverware duel for the house. “Chris Weidman e Jon Jones They wanted to face each other to see who would be the king of New York. We've been talking about this for some time”, revealed Ultimate's president, Dana White, in a recent question and answer session with fans.

When there were still hopes of seeing MMA legalized in New York, the UFC even scheduled a date to hold an event at the legendary Madison Square Garden gym, on December 5th. So far, UFC 194 has no confirmed location.
