UFC 189: McGregor and Thominhas earn performance bonuses; Lawler x MacDonald is 'Fight of the Night'

In his second consecutive fight on the main card of a pay-per-view of Ultimate, the Brazilian Thominhas Almeida, who achieved the upset against Brad pickett and won by knockout, repeated the feat and received one of the “Performance of the Night” bonuses at UFC 189, held this Saturday night (11), in Las Vegas (USA). As a result, Almeida took home US$50 (R$158 at current prices).

In addition to the Brazilian, the other athlete awarded on the card for his performance was Conor McGregor. The Irishman, who won the interim featherweight belt in the main fight of the night, was awarded for his performance against Chad Mendes, which ended with a technical knockout in the final stretch of the second round.

In addition to the individual awards, another award given by the organization was for the duel between Robbie Lawler e Rory McDonald. The five-round “war” between the North American and the Canadian, won by the champion via technical knockout, was considered “Fight of the Night”. Therefore, each of the two also received a check for 50 thousand dollars, in addition to their salaries on the night.
