In a long text, the fighter said he had suffered a serious injury to his lumbar spine, which had been bothering him for years and had recently worsened, causing severe movement limitations. How are you, my friends? I want to share a story with you.

I'm very proud of myself and I feel like a winner. I won my main fight, which was against myself. The fact that I arrived ready to fight yesterday already makes me a winner. I don't want to make excuses for defeat, I've never done that and now wouldn't be the first time. In fact, I want to congratulate the Sam alvey. He absorbed my blows well and managed to turn the game around.

But the victory I had was that God allowed me to return to work, and I am very happy and grateful for that. Just over five months ago, I had a serious lumbar spine injury. This injury had been bothering me for over 10 years, and the last two years of my life I spent sleeping sitting up. If I slept in any other position, I wouldn't walk the next day. During my fight against Andrew Craig, my vertebra dislocated even more and so, a few days later, my legs were almost paralyzed. I had to have emergency surgery, and the procedure was done on my belly. The doctor removed the damaged disc between L5 and S1, placing a prosthesis and fixing it with four screws. In the same surgery, four more screws and two rods were placed at the back, to complete the arthrodesis. It took 7 hours of surgery.

Three months later, when everything had calcified and healed, the doctor released me to train. Then my internal war began, with my body and mind. On several occasions, I left the gym crying due to my failed attempt to do shadow boxing, simple movements for any fighter, and not being able to do it due to the pain and stiffness in the area. I thought about giving up several times, but I knew I had to win my particular battle. I did everything to return to a high level, fighting against my bad thoughts, which told me 'you're gone'. I went to the gym every day, even if it was to train for 10 minutes or just watch the workout. I focused, the desire to win was greater than the fear of losing and I kept improving. Then, I had major sacroiliac inflammation, a kind of side effect of osteoarthritis surgery, which limited my movements. I could barely bend down to put on my shoes. I went back to the doctor and he said it wouldn't be difficult to solve my problem. It would be necessary to perform radiofrequency denervation on the joint. Inside the room to carry out this procedure, I received an invitation from the UFC to fight in Porto Alegre. I immediately asked the doctor if I could accept it. He gave me the 'ok' as long as I felt good about everything I had been through. I accepted the challenge right there, inside the operating room. From that day on, I focused even more on training, I did my best in physiotherapy, diet, rest and training. It was a great learning experience. I arrived well for the fight, well trained and without any limitations. I didn't win the fight inside the octagon, but I won outside of it.

I leave with my head held high, because I know I did my best. The pain is temporary, because I know I will win again soon. The victory I take from Porto Alegre is overcoming, and this is nothing new to me. My whole life has been one of achievements based on a lot of sacrifice, nothing came for free. I'll be back soon, and I want to have the support of you again, my fans and friends. Thanks,

Cezar Mutant
