The large number of surprising results at UFC Fight Night 61, held in Porto Alegre (RS), this Sunday (22), caused serious losses to the betting site “Bovada.LV”. According to the company's manager, Kevin Bradley, there was a loss of around US$1 million (R$2,8 million) after only one fighter considered the favorite came away with victory at Ginásio do Gigantinho.

In an interview with the website of the North American broadcaster “ESPN”, Bradley revealed that there was a bettor who bet US$4 on each of the underdogs on the card and pocketed US$85. Another four put US$1 in each of the “zebras” and took away US$25.

With defeats of favorites like Antonio Pezão, Edson Barboza, Cezar Mutant e Iuri Marajó, UFC FN 61 has established itself as the event with the most underdog victories on the betting exchanges, with ten, counting all the major MMA organizations, such as Ultimate, PRIDE, Strikeforce, WEC, Dream and EliteXC.
