Anderson Silva expects a light sentence and aims to return to the UFC in 2015, says newspaper

According to a columnist, the Brazilian will not start a legal conflict with the Commission, but insists that he did not dope

After the shock of seeing his name linked to one of the biggest recent doping controversies in MMA, Anderson Silva You are already starting to think about the first steps you will take from now on. According to the newspaper “O Globo”, the Brazilian, former UFC middleweight champion, hopes to receive a lenient sentence from the Nevada Athletic Commission, so that he can return to fighting in 2015.

The text, signed by journalist Guga Noblat, says that Anderson does not intend to start a “legal war” with the entity in his trial, which will begin on February 17th. However, the fighter “swears to his closest friends and family” that he did not ingest any performance-enhancing substances.

According to the newspaper, if he receives a light punishment from the Commission, which would be around nine months, Anderson dreams of having one or two more fights and “putting an honorable end to his career”.

Anderson was caught with two anabolic substances in a surprise exam carried out on January 9th. The second test, carried out ten days later, came back clean. However, information from the North American press indicates that the Brazilian has tested positive for a third time, although it is not yet clear when the samples were collected.
