The official weigh-in for UFC 181, held in Las Vegas (USA) on Friday night (05), was, without a doubt, one of the busiest in the recent history of the largest MMA organization on the planet. The fighters' passage through the scales confirmed the two title fights of the night, John hendricks x Robbie Lawler e Anthony Pettis x Gilbert Melendez, there were moments of tension in stares that almost ended in a fight and a very unusual scene, when Corey anderson decided to take a selfie with his opponent after making weight.

Despite several notable moments at the weigh-in, there were no scares in the main fight of the night. If the first time John hendricks e Robbie Lawler they faced each other for the welterweight belt in March of this year, “Bigg Rigg” had problems with the scale and was only able to confirm the duel using the additional time of one hour to cut the excess grams. This Friday, however, Hendricks reached the division's 77,1 kg limit, the same weight as Lawler, and confirmed the rematch for the title. On the face of it, the atmosphere was mild between the rivals who close the schedule this Saturday (06).

If the weather between Anthony Pettis and Gilbert Melendez during the TUF 20 recordings was mild, the tone between the opponents of the night's co-main event at the weigh-in was totally different. After making weight calmly, Melendez weighed 70,3 kg and Pettis weighed 70,1 kg, the athletes had a tense look, including staring and exchanging insults.

The past came to the fore when Travis Browne and Brendan Schaub they came face to face after making weight this Friday (05). Not necessarily the past between athletes. Schaub trained at Edmond Tarverdyan's gym, the same camp as the muse Ronda Rousey, but left the team in trouble and has become the coach's number one enemy ever since. The tension came to a head when they met on the stage set up at Mandalay Bay and the confrontation between Brendan and Browne almost ended in a full-blown fight. The mood was calmed, but the athletes and the coach left the place exchanging insults.

One of the most unusual moments at the official UFC 181 weigh-in was the face-off between the TUF 19 champion Corey anderson and newcomer Justin Jones. After hitting 92,7 kg on the scale, the same weight as his rival, Anderson innovated the traditional pose and chose to take a “selfie” with his opponent. The joke didn't go down too well with Jones, who looked like he had few friends and remained serious until President Dana White intervened.
