“I've been in the (athletes') corner against Paulo before, and from what I've seen so far, I think it will be a very difficult fight for him. The challenges that Rob brings, I don't know if he will have an answer. From what I felt about Rob, I don’t see much that Costa can do to win the fight”, declared Dariush in an interview with UFC.

In addition to welcoming Whittaker, Dariush revealed that he was training with the athlete as well.
“We’re at the Kings in Anaheim, that’s my gym. Last week, Rob and his coach got in touch and said, 'Hey, can we use the place?' I was like, 'yeah, sure,' and on top of that, I was like, 'Hey, if you guys need anyone, I'm here and I'm available.' To my surprise, they said yes,” he concluded.
