The UFC plans to match a fight between Alexander Gustafson e Rashad evans for January 24th of next year, which would be the main attraction of UFC on FOX 14, in Stockholm, Sweden. The information is from the North American website “MMA Mania”.

Originally, UFC's plans were to get married Gustafsson against Anthony Johnson, currently ranked fifth in the light heavyweight division, but “Rumble” was removed from the organization after being accused of domestic violence by his ex-wife. Thus, Evans, Johnson's training partner, offered to face the Swede.

The two fighters, former light heavyweight title challengers, had a year hampered by injuries. Gustafsson defeated Jimi Manuwa in March and qualified to fight for the title again in September, at UFC 178. However, the Swede injured his knee and was removed from the contest. Evans, in turn, hasn't stepped into the Octagon since November last year, when he ran over Chael Sonnen. In February, he would face Daniel Cormier at UFC 170, but he also injured his knee and was sidelined for a long time.
