Charles of the Bronx wants another chance to face the champion Islam makhachev in 2024. However, the UFC 296, which takes place this Saturday (16/12) in Las Vegas, could disrupt your plans. The fighter does not have any fights scheduled or a set date for returning to the octagon.
The reason is that the winner of the main fight between Leon edwards e Colby covington, who are competing for the welterweight belt (up to 77kg.), can challenge or show interest in facing Islam makhachev in a superfight between “champion x champion”.

Makhachev has already said that he could move up a category to seek a second Ultimate title. As UFC 300, which should take place early next year, would also be a great opportunity for the Russian to face one of the two fighters. Without a scheduled appointment, he can accept the challenge.
Charles of the Bronx, in turn, has recovered from a deep cut on his eyebrow. The Brazilian, who was injured about a week before the rematch against Islam, which would take place in UFC 294, also wants to return to the Octagon at the beginning of next year.
