In preparation for the rematch against Islam makhachev No. UFC 294, Charles of the Bronx admitted that he was negotiating a superfight against the Brazilian legend before his next commitment was confirmed. In an exclusive interview with SUPER FIGHTS, the Ultimate star revealed that he was planning a jiu-jitsu fight against Renan Barao at 'BJJ Stars', a renowned 'gentle art' tournament. With the new title fight against the Russian becoming official, the agreement could not be signed.

“It was being negotiated, but they scheduled my fight (against Makhachev) and it ended up leaving. It's definitely a good target. We were talking about values, places. If that’s the case, let’s go,” said Do Bronx.
