Recent events inside and outside the octagon have reflected in the UFC's official ranking positions. Ryan bader, who defeated Rafael Feijão at UFC 174, surpassed Mauritius Shogun and now occupies eighth place on the light heavyweight list.
Still in the category up to 93 kg, Ovince St Preux reached the “top 10” with his submission victory over Ryan Jimmo. Feijão, in turn, remains in 12th place, also behind Jimi Manuwa.
Furthermore, the retirement of Chael Sonnen opened space for the arrival of Fabio Maldonado to the ranking, in 15th place. The “Caipira de Aço” comes from three consecutive victories in the category, against Roger Hollett, Joey Beltran and Gian Villante. In his last fight, at heavyweight, he lost to Stipe Miocic.
Another notable change took place in the welterweight category. Defeated by Rory McDonald, Tyron woodley fell to fourth place, being overtaken precisely by Carlos Condit, whom he beat in March. MacDonald remains in second, behind Robbie Lawler.
Removed from the rankings last week due to contractual problems with the UFC, Mark Muñoz returned to the middleweight list, in 13th. Finally, in the bantamweight division, Mike Easton lost six places after his defeat to Yves Jabouin, his fourth consecutive defeat. Now, he occupies 14th place.
