The ban on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) shook the MMA world at the beginning of the year and left fighters who used the treatment perplexed.
One of the biggest losers from the measure was Vitor belfort, who lost the opportunity to fight for the UFC middleweight belt with the TRT ban.

Joe Rogan, official UFC commentator, stated, without citing his source, that the ban only occurred because Belfort was caught in a surprise drug test carried out in February.
“They did a random test with Vitor. And Vitor had testosterone. This is why they banned testosterone in the first place. All of this came crashing down when Vitor tested positive with the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC). Before, they were considering giving him an exemption for testosterone. Because he tested positive, they scrapped the whole testosterone program,” Rogan revealed on his podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience.

If the information provided by Rogan is in fact true, this constitutes a breach of North American law, as the results of the exam should be kept confidential as Belfort did not have the license to perform the TRT. Even so, the Brazilian is expected to fight in Las Vegas (USA) on July 5th, against Chael Sonnen, although it still depends on NSAC for the license.
