THE FIGHT

In the first few seconds, Douglas threw two high kicks at Stamann. Cody threatened an Upper, but D'Silva left his range of action. Stamann tried to get closer to play at close range but Douglas continued using low kicks and punches to keep his rival at bay. Stamann manages to get closer, enters Douglas' legs, lifts the Brazilian but the two athletes get tangled up as they fall, which causes D'Silva to apply an illegal kick to the North American and receive a warning from the referee. Douglas catches Stamann's leg and gets the takedown but the American gets up quickly. D'Silva also hits Cody with a spinning elbow that explodes right into his rival's guard.

The two fighters begin the second half exchanging kicks in the center of the cage. Douglas continued to defend his rival's takedowns well and used his movement as an asset against the North American. D'Silva hit a straight Upper and received an immediate response from the veteran. Stamann landed a cross and a sequence of punches that shook Douglas. The two athletes continued exchanging blows in the center of the cage and the round ended with the North American trying to take down the Brazilian.

Back in the Octagon, the two fighters once again exchanged blows in the center of the cage. Douglas tried to explode and I received a new cross that made him swing again. Stamann exploded onto Douglas, landing two bombs straight into the Brazilian's face, which led to a knockdown and the North American came out on top with ground and pound. Stamann started hitting the Brazilian with elbows and punches from top to bottom. Douglas used his legs and managed to get Cody off of him. When he tried to explode, Douglas left his guard exposed, which created space for the American to counterattack. The bell sounded to announce the end of the round.
