In his biggest challenge in MMA, Ian Machado Garry shone. Featured in UFC Charlotte, held this Saturday (13), in the United States, the candidate for successor to Conor McGregor had a gala performance against Daniel Rodriguez. With a categorical performance, the Irishman made it look easy and brutalized his opponent with a technical knockout in the first round.
With the result, Garry guarantees plenty of reasons to celebrate. The triumph against the North American should see Ian take over his rival's former position in the top 15 welterweight division (up to 77,1kg). In addition to this feat, the fighter extends his unbeaten record in professional MMA, reaching the mark of 12 consecutive victories.

Now, in the top 15, Ian has a new opponent in sight. In an interview still in the octagon, the fighter challenged Neil Magny, 11th in the group.
The 'hype' is real
The confrontation began with Garry taking the initiative with a low kick. Still in the first minute, a jab from the Irishman, followed by a cross, cleanly touched the North American's face. With two minutes gone, Ian continued to be more aggressive and walked towards his rival. Halfway through the stage, Garry connected with a high kick, which exploded onto his opponent's head. Daniel accused the attack and collapsed. Ian went up and, after a series of blows, forced the referee to stop the fight.

Promise of Ultimate, Carlos Ulberg shined again in the Octagon. Known for his physical strength, the athlete was not aware of Ihor Potieria, responsible for the retirement of Mauritius Shogun. With sharp hands, the athlete took his rival to the canvas with a cross and settled the score via technical knockout in the first round.
With the result, Ulberg expands his good moment in the light heavyweight division (up to 93 kg.). Now, the fighter has reached the mark of four positive results in a row, three of which were by knockout.

In the confrontation that opened the UFC main card, alex morono won again in the fast lane. Experienced opponent Tim means, the athlete showed the complexity of his game and took advantage of his rival's oversight to achieve a positive result. Upon noticing a mistaken takedown by his rival in the second round, the fighter used a guillotine choke and forced his opponent to tap out.
With the result, Morono recovered from the defeat he suffered against Santiago Ponzinibbio at the end of 2022. Afterwards, the fighter challenged Bryan Barbarena to a confrontation.
MMA veteran ends up suffering another stumble. At 39 years old, the athlete reached the milestone of three consecutive setbacks.
