The interruption of the fight between Ron Jason and Steven Siler was one of the topics that generated the most discord at UFC Fight Night 38, held this past Sunday (23), in Natal. In the fight that opened the main card of the night, Jason knocked down the North American with just over a minute of action, and the referee, Wernei Cardoso, immediately ended the fight, declaring a technical knockout.

Many people questioned whether the fight was stopped prematurely, as Siler was kicking his butt to defend himself when the referee intervened. Jason, however, doesn't think this interfered with the fight. “God writes correctly with crooked lines”, he commented, according to the website “MMA Junkie”. “The referees are very well prepared to protect all the athletes, so I don't think it's anyone's place to say that the fight was stopped early. The same person who criticizes could complain that the interruption came too late,” he assessed.

With the result, Jason achieved his fourth victory in the UFC, recovering from the setback he suffered in November, when he was knocked out by Jeremy Stephens in Goiania.
