Aware of the incident that canceled the main fight of the UFC 262, the president of Ultimate, Dana White, did not hide his surprise at the severity of the injury suffered by Jiri Prochazka. In an interview with 'Yahoo Sports', the agent was shocked in the first assessment about the condition of the Czech's shoulder, who gave up the title after the incident. On December 10, the combatant would face Glover Teixeira in rematch for the light heavyweight throne (up to 93kg.).

“This is the worst shoulder injury UFC middleweights have ever seen. Jiri's shoulder is screwed up, bad as fuck. He will need a major surgery and a lot of time to recover,” White explained.

No UFC 282, Prochazka would perform his first title defense. The athlete had assumed the absolute top spot in the category after finishing Glover Teixeira in a historic turnaround that occurred in June.

With Jiri out of action, Ultimate suggested that the Brazilian face Magomed Ankalayev by the throne of division. The miner even suggested that the clash take place in UFC 283, in Rio de Janeiro, but the request was not fulfilled. Subsequently, the Tupiniquim denied the offer and, thus, the company confirmed that the Russian will face Jan Blachowicz in the main event on December 10th.
