It will not be this time that the long-awaited rematch between Jiri Prochazka e Glover Teixeira will happen. On the afternoon of this Wednesday (23), the website 'Yahoo Sports' reported that the light heavyweight champion (up to 93kg) suffered a serious shoulder injury during training and will not be able to defend his title in the UFC 282. Surprisingly, the Czech left the belt vacant and the Brazilian was removed from the card for refusing to face another opponent.

“This is the worst shoulder injury doctors have ever seen in UFC history. It is very bad. Your shoulder is really, really bad. He (Jiri Prochakza) is going to have serious surgery that will require extensive rehabilitation,” said Dana White.
Prochazka would make his first defense of the light heavyweight title (up to 93kg), after submitting Glover in the UFC 275, last June. According to information from 'Yahoo Sports', the Czech suffered a serious shoulder injury during a training session, which should keep him away from the octagon for around a year. Out of respect for his rivals and to keep the category active, Jiri preferred to abandon the belt.
This way, the new light heavyweight champion will now leave the duel between Magomed Ankalayev e Jan Blachowicz, which were promoted to the main fight of the show. O UFC 282 will take place on December 10th and will be held at the T-Mobile Arena, in Las Vegas (USA).
