Even after the defeat to Brandon thatch at UFC Goiânia, the third in his last four fights, Paulo thiago continues as an Ultimate athlete. The guarantor is the fighter's manager Wallid Ismail, who is also the organizer of the event. Jungle Fight, who released the information through his profile on Twitter.
“I just spoke to Joe Silva (UFC matchmaker, responsible for matching most of the event's fights) and the Paulo thiago continues in the UFC”, wrote Ismail. Along with the message, Wallid placed a link to an article on the “R7” portal, in which Wallid himself Paulo thiago claims to have doubts about staying in the biggest MMA organization on the planet.
In an interview with the portal, “Caveira”, as he is known, also stated that he is returning to serve in the Special Operations Battalion (BOPE), a role that even served as inspiration for his nickname. “I'm returning to Brasília, I'm going to resume my post at Bope. I'll continue training there while I wait for a response from the UFC. Of course, I could be cut, there is a chance, but that’s up to the UFC”, revealed the fighter.
