Velasquez reveals that he 'didn't want' to finish his second fight against Cigano

Champion said he made the Brazilian pay for the first setback suffered in his career

the american Cain Velazquez dominated the second fight against junior gypsy, at UFC 155, in December 2012, and took the Brazilian's belt. Despite extensive dominance for 25 minutes, the current champion was unable to knock out the Brazilian athlete. However, according to him, dragging the duel until the end was intentional.

“In the second fight, I didn't try to submit him or knock him out because I wanted to make him pay for the first fight, I wanted to punish him in a way, I took his back and I could have tried to submit him, but I preferred to make him pay and punish him”, provoked the current champion, in an interview with the MMA Fighting website.

Júnior Cigano and Cain Velasquez close the trilogy between them at UFC 166, an event that takes place next Saturday (19), in Houston, in the United States. In the first duel between them, in November 2010, the Brazilian knocked out Velasquez in just over a minute of fighting. In the rematch, held in December 2012, Cain got revenge and left the duel with victory via unanimous decision by the judges.>

    I don't believe it... a fighter doesn't miss an opportunity to finish, he would never take the risk, especially against Cigano... but of course it's cool to say that before the fight, right??!!!
