The soap opera involving the next opponent of Charles of the Bronx for the lightweight belt (up to 70,3 kg) he may have gained a new component. If so far the main candidates for the plot's antagonist are Islam makhachev e Conor McGregor, another Brazilian says he hopes to take on the role: Rafael dos Anjos.

In an interview with the North American website “MMA Fighting”, Rafael dos Anjos, which just like Charles of the Bronx is also a former lightweight champion, revealed the hope of “skipping the line” of Islam makhachev and measure forces against his compatriot in Brazil, in December.

Before thinking about a possible duel against Charles of the Bronx, Rafael dos Anjos faces a challenge against Raphael Fiziev, in July. The Brazilian guarantees that his current focus is entirely on the fight against the Kyrgyz.
“My focus now is 100% on Raphael Fiziev. That's the name I signed the contract to face and that's the guy I'm going to beat on July 9th. One step at a time, but I know we are in the same division, me, Islam and all these guys and we will probably meet in the future”, he concluded.
