After being challenged by several UFC fighters, Chael Sonnen decided to aim for a new target, challenging Rashad Evans to a confrontation in November, at UFC 167. Even though nothing has been made official, the former light heavyweight champion seems to have liked the suggestion.

In turn, Rashad said that the fight makes sense for both of them, even though they are friends. “I think it’s something that could definitely happen,” Evans commented. “I think it’s the fight that makes sense for both of us. Even though we are friends and have a great relationship, we have the same goal and are in the same weight class.”

Without losing his good humor, Sonnen took the opportunity to poke fun at whoever challenged him and even praised Rashad. “I was bored waiting for some goofball, I needed a challenge. Rashad is a challenge with a capital D”, said the provocateur to the North American website MMAjunkie.

UFC 167 will be held on November 16, in Las Vegas, and will be headlined by a welterweight title fight between the champion Georges St Pierre and the challenger John hendricks.
