Close to historic rematch against Patrick Pitbull No. Bellator 277, A. J. McKee is certain that his victim from last season will not be the only family member with whom he will share the circular cage. In a promotional press conference for the event that takes place this Friday (15), the featherweight champion (up to 65,7kg) dared and said that he will take the lightweight belt (up to 70,3kg) today, in possession of Patricky .

“I'm always respectful, but when you go beyond a certain level, it's not disrespectful. Things are different now. I'm the champion, so I'd like to act differently. In the first fight, I was provoking my brother. For this one, I look ahead and hope to put on a show. I want to become a double champion, and (Patricio’s) brother has the belt,” said McKee.

AJ's speech bothered Patricky, who was in the audience and heard the statement. Upon noticing the Brazilian's dissatisfaction, the North American continued with the provocation.

“It’s going to happen,” McKee said of taking the title from Patricky. It's inevitable. That's why Patrício gave you the belt. Let's be realistic. He didn't want to see me more agile, bigger and stronger (at lightweight). I will destroy the Pitbull legacy”, he guaranteed.

After the episode, Patricky, who won the title – vacated by his younger brother in 2021 – in the collision in front of Peter Queally, Bellator 270, used social media to rebut the North American.

“Patricio will win back the belt, but if AJ wants to move up a category next and take a beating from me too, he’s welcome,” Patricky posted on his Twitter account.
