Cesário Bezerra, boxing coach from Anderson Silva, is one of the professionals who has worked with the former UFC champion for the longest time. With seven years of experience alongside Spider, the coach revealed that his pupil lost focus in the fight against Chris Weidman at UFC 162, an event held last Saturday (06), in La Vegas. Setback that cost the athlete the loss of the organization's middleweight belt

“My view is that he lost focus on the fight and, when he tried to get it right, it was already too late,” he said. “The coaches called him in the first round to stop for free, and he lost it. Then he apologized: 'I lost, I couldn't get it right'. We know what happens when your head is out of the fight”, added Cesário, in an interview with the Combate channel website.

The coach says that Anderson felt uncomfortable because of Chris Weidman and, for this reason, he exaggerated his behavior and ended up paying dearly. “He started to be very funny, and when he starts like that it's because he was somehow bothered in the fight. It's a lot of bullshit. He missed the distance and took a left cross from the guy. The guy saw that he caught it and continued.”

Bezerra also did not shy away from commenting on the possible disrespect committed by Anderson in the fight. And the coach went further, saying that the Brazilian didn't just disrespect his opponent:

PUBLICITY:

“I think there was an exaggeration not only with the athlete (Weidman), but with the corners (Anderson, in this case Ramon Lemos, Rafael Feijão, Pedro Rizzo and Edelson Silva – Cesário was in the audience) too. As a coach, I cannot accept such a deal, support it. We try to soften it, but we have to tell the truth. Maybe it wasn't his intention to be disrespectful. Somehow he tried to distract himself to undo the guy's plan, but he overdid it and in that time he got lost. I'm not saying it was right, because it was wrong. You can’t touch the athlete’s head in a situation like that,” he concluded.
