UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones, who took the lead in the organization's weight-for-pound rankings, participated this Tuesday in a press conference about UFC 165, the event in which he will defend his title in September. Asked about the defeat of Anderson Silva, the North American did not mince words in saying that the former middleweight champion disrespected Chris Weidman and ended up paying for it.

“I think it got to the point where he (Anderson) believes in his gift so much that he abused that gift. He disrespected his gift by disrespecting his opponent.”

Jones made a point of saying that he still has high regard for Anderson, but stated that the Brazilian star took an action that left him in trouble.

“Martial arts are traditionally based on honor, integrity and treating people with respect. At some point he lost sight of this and paid the ultimate price. So I'm not going towards Anderson's exaggerations. I know exactly where he is. You can tell exactly where he is by the way he fights. I think he was disrespectful and the gods of war simply made him pay for it. But he's still the big one Anderson Silva for me."

The young light heavyweight champion also said that the defeat of the former owner of the middleweight belt served as a warning for himself.

“(Anderson’s loss) It really motivated me a lot to see someone I paid attention to lose. It was like a reality check. I try to keep my ego in check when I fight, and to see Anderson lose like that – first of all, something I will never do is put my arms down and face my opponent like that. But, upon seeing the dream of Chris Weidman If it comes true, I have to make sure I’m a dream slayer.”

ANDERSON SILVA THINKS IT'S TOO MUCH, IT'S A Pity THAT HE SOLD THIS FIGHT IT'S IN HIS FACE, BUT HE'S GOING TO DENY IT BECAUSE THERE'S A LOT OF MONEY INVOLVED BUT ANYWAY, WHAT A CARDBOARD HUH, IN ADDITION TO BEING RIDICULOUS, WHAT HE DID BY GIVING THE FIGHT AWAY HE STILL TRIED TO HUMILATE THE OTHER FIGHTER, HE SHOULD BE EXPULDED, AND NEVER FIGHT AGAIN IN HIS LIFE, MMA IS LOSING FACE, ONLY MONEY INVOLVED AND THE COMPETITORS HAVE LOST THEIR DIGNITY, BUT DO WHAT IT RIGHT, EVERYTHING IN SPORT LATELY HAS BEEN LIKE THIS, THANKS!!!!!

Do you know the difference between Anderson Silva and President Dilma?
    - None! Both left their guard open and went for the knockout!
Both failed to observe the popular outcry:
Everyone's desire was for them to win, with sporting prowess. That he fought gallantly, playing fair, in a rational, planned way.
    The rest is history:
Popular disappointment, in the fans of both. Regrettable, of course!

Anderson Silva, you will only have my respect if you ask for a rematch and actually fight! Otherwise I will die thinking that fight was an “arrangement”!

Anderson added another letter to the sport that seduces all Brazilians at every event: MMAM (mixture of martial arts with MACACADAS). PAID DEARLY AND UGLY.

WE REAP WHAT WE SOW. ACTION AND REACTION. ANDERSON MADE A CIRCUS LIKE THE POLITICIANS IN CONGRESS. HE GOT WHAT HE DESERVED. HE HUMILIATES AND LACKS RESPECT TOWARDS HIS OPPONENTS FOR A LONG TIME. A NATIONAL SHAME. WE BRAZILIANS ARE EMBARRASSED BY ANDERSON'S ATTITUDE. WE HOPE HE WILL FIGHT AGAIN IN A REMATCH AND EVEN IF HE DOESN'T WIN, HE FIGHTS WITH RESPECT. UNDERESTIMATING YOUR OPPONENT IS A KID'S THING.
