Former featherweight king, Max Holloway returns to the octagon in a highly anticipated clash against Yair Rodriguez at UFC Vegas 42

Considered one of the best representatives of featherweights (up to 65,7kg.) in the recent history of MMA, Max Holloway is back. This Saturday (13), in Las Vegas (USA), the former Ultimate champion returns to the octagon and makes the long-awaited confrontation against Yair Rodriguez for his status as a challenger for the belt. Marcos Foot, Thiago Moses and Rafael Alves are Brazilian highlights.

Holloway x Rodriguez: eye on gold

In a universe without the existence of Alexander Volkanovsky, current featherweight champion, the clash between Holloway and Rodriguez could easily win the division's belt. Representative of the group's elite, the fighters will take their skills to the octagon and try to put on a show with the Australian.

Defeated by Volkanovski twice in a row (2019 and 2020), Max maintained a high level within the company. In his last fight, the Hawaiian made history by beating and winning Calvin kattar in the clash that broke the record as a duel with 'more significant blows' connected.

If the moment for Holloway is positive, the same can be said for Yair. Current number three in the ranking, the Mexican has had three duels without defeat and, the last time he was in action, he overcame Jeremy Stephens in great confrontation.

At 29 years old, Max is heading towards his 29th appearance as a professional in MMA, with 22 wins and six stumbles. Rodriguez, also 29, has 13 triumphs, two setbacks and one 'I didn't answer' within the modality.
