The main fight of Bellator 271, an event held in Hollywood, Florida (USA) this Friday (12), featured another show by the featherweight champion (up to 65,7kg.), Chris Cyborg. In a fight against challenger Sinead Kavanegh, the Brazilian legend started striking and knocked him out in the first round with a right cross. She defended her title from the organization chaired by Scott Coker for the third time.

With the result, Cyborg extends his streak of 25 career victories – 19 of which were by knockout. The Brazilian now has a record of 25 positive results, two negative results and one fight without result.
On the other hand, Sinead Kavanagh encountered her fifth setback. Professional since 2015, the Irish representative of 'SBG Ireland' also has seven other victories.
The fight
The two fighters didn't even touch gloves as a form of respect and started to exchange franks from the opening moments of the fight. Cyborg attempted the takedown, but was thwarted by Kavanagh – who aimed to survive the initial pressure.
Still on the fence, Cris shortened her stance again and placed two heavy hands that hit Sinead in the face, as well as a right cross to the Irishwoman's chin, who was already knocked out. The Brazilian also threw other punches before the central referee interrupted her.
Keep an eye out! Aaron Pico dominates rival and scores fifth consecutive victory in Bellator
Packed with four consecutive victories, Aaron Pico confirmed his favoritism against compatriot Justin Gonzales on the main card of the show this Friday (12). Betting on his wrestling, the North American athlete was superior in every round and put great pressure on his opponent.
Gonzales started with a frenetic pace and threw a cross and another low kick. Pico, however, was quick and preferred to change the game to where he feels comfortable: Wrestling. On top, Aaron was unable to impose his pressure and Gonzales left the position. With the fight still standing, the specialist still had time to attempt a guillotine in the final stretch, but saw his opponent defend his attempts.
If it worked once, Pico repeats it. Without wanting to exchange blows in the stand-up, the North American went down again and sought the 100kg position, but Gonzales 'exploded' from below and defended himself from the position.
Aaron's effectiveness remained strong in the third round, with Aaron cornering his rival against the fence and applying elbows in the clinch. He even followed suit for another takedown and was in a dominant position.
Enjoying his best streak in mixed martial arts, Pico now has a record of nine triumphs and three setbacks in a row. Previously undefeated, Gonzales suffered his first career defeat in 13 fights as an MMA professional. He had debuted with victory in Bellator, defeating Ty-wan Claxton in a split decision in June of this year.
